The Integrative Anthropological Sciences unit has a Ph.D. program. Students who anticipate pursuing careers as ecological anthropologists, scientifically-oriented sociocultural anthropologists, biological/physical anthropologists, or human biologists are encouraged to apply. At present, the IAS unit has no core faculty in archaeology, so students who anticipate future careers as archaeologists or bioarchaeologists should apply to our sister unit,
the Sociocultural Anthropology, Archaeology, and Bioarchaeology unit. When you apply, please indicate which core IAS faculty you are interested in working with. Students trained by IAS faculty have gone on to postdoctoral fellowships, and tenure-track positions at prominent institutions such as UCLA, University of Oregon, Washington State, Brunel, the Institute for Theoretical Biology at Humboldt University in Berlin, and Penn State University, among others.
