UCSB Anthropology Brown Bag Lecture Series Presents:

Through Chinese Women's Eyes

This documentary video was shot on location in Shanghai and Beijing, China. The post-production work was done in Los Angeles with three graduates of the visual anthropology program at USC. It explores the changes experienced by urban women from the Maoist revolutionary era of state feminism and masculinization of women to the current commercialized era of the commodification of women and sexuality. The video will be distributed by Women Make Movies in NYC.
