The End of the Ice Age 3 - Review of Global Trends

The first thing we should do is look at the end of the Pleistocene from a global perspective. Both because it was a global phenomenon and because it had global implications for the development of humans in all parts of the world. The review material comes from the stack on the Pleistocene that you explored in Assignment 4. Our attention this time, however, will focus on just those changes that ocurred at the transition from the Upper Paleolithic to the Mesolithic. After the review, we will focus on one specific area of the globe, Beringia, to see how the dramatic changes of the global warming opened a new world for early humans to colonize.
