The Archaeology of Olduvai Gorge 4 - Louis S. B. Leakey (1903-1972)

L. S. B. Leakey devoted his life to wresting the story of early human origins from the dry, dusty strata of Olduvai Gorge. From 1931 to his death in 1972, Leakey, along with his archaeologist wife, Mary, pieced together the remarkable evol-utionary tale that unfolds from the remains of stone and bone timelessly embraced by the volcanic ash and clay of Olduvai. His contributions to our understanding of our most distant past will remain a singular accomplishment in the annals of archaeology.
