Congratulations to our esteemed colleague Dr. Barbara Voorhies, who just recently heard she has been awarded the 2016 Society for American Archaeology (SAA) Award for Excellence in Archaeological Analysis.
This award recognizes the excellence of an archaeologist whose innovative and enduring research has made a significant impact on the discipline. The award rotates annually among three themes: (1) an unrestricted or general category; (2) lithic analysis; and (3) ceramic analysis. Voorhies’ recognition, within the unrestricted or general category, lauds her contribution to the study of the Mesoamerican Archaic period. The official announcement of this award will be made at the upcoming annual meeting of the Society, which will be held in Orlando, Florida.
